Global Feminist Link Love April 12-18

April 19, 2010

Hey Global Feminists!

Here are a list of links about what other global feminists were up to this past week. We also want to know: What have you been reading/writing this week? Don’t forget to spread your own link love in the comments!

Africa

Asia

From Blank Noise's "I never ask for it" campaign; arguing that what a woman wears is no explanation for harassment. Click image for link.

Europe

Latin America

  • First Lesbian Couple Marries in Argentina (The Advocate)
  • Machu Picchu and Susan Sarandon (Peruanista) “Firstly, and please Susan don’t take this in the wrong way but to me, it really looked racist to have a European-descendant woman reopening an Indigenous sacred place as Machu Picchu. This is a historical site that was left almost intact because the invader Hispanics never found it.”

Middle East

Northern America

Oceania

  • Sexist migrants create legal problem (Sidney Morning Herald), according to Chief Justice, Jim Spigelman. As Ann from Feministing notes: “Ah yes, because we all know that white people have never, ever exhibited any sexist tendencies, and an Australia without immigrants would be a feminist utopia.”
