Announcing the Global Feminism series
*UPDATE (June 21, 2010): Our chat is going to be held on Monday, July 19 at 8pm CST. Join the GAB editorial board for a live discussion of global feminism! More info to follow.
The editors and I are proud to announce the upcoming Global Feminism series which will begin on Wednesday, June 30. This series will be a discussion amongst the GAB editorial board and GAB readers as to what “global feminism” is.
The series will extend over three weeks (June 30-July 23) with posts going up on Wednesdays and Fridays at 1pm CST. You’re going to hear from all of the editors at Gender Across Borders as to what global feminism personally means to them–and as you read, think about how different and vast this concept is. These mini-posts simply state each editors’ idea of what global feminism means. This will also give you a chance, as a reader in the GAB community, to discuss and comment on the concept yourselves.
At the end of the series, we’re going to give you another opportunity to discuss global feminism with the entire GAB editorial board in a live chat. on-line. That chat is TBA*, but will most likely occur sometime during the week of July 26, 2010.
If you want to join in on the conversation before the series officially starts, please feel free to comment on this post! For inspiration, check out the conversation on recent GAB posts about feminism, blogging and race in the feminist blogosphere.
Thanks, and we look forward to discussing global feminism with you.
