Carrie Polansky, Editor and Founder

Carrie Carrie Polansky was born and raised in a suburb of Boston, Massachusetts. She graduated from Emerson College in 2008 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual and Media Arts (and a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies). During her final semester at Emerson, she interned for Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders in the Public Affairs & Education department. Her experience at GLAD led to her decision to pursue a career involving both media and LGBT advocacy. Upon completing her education, Carrie moved from Boston to New York City. She currently resides in Astoria, Queens and works in fundraising for an LGBT nonprofit organization.

Carrie’s documentary, Just As I Am, won the Take Action Hollywood! award in March 2009.

When not working, Carrie enjoys watching (and critiquing) movies, learning about wine, reading gender theory, and exploring NYC.

You can contact Carrie via email carrie [at] genderacrossborders [dot] com.
